Our Interview With Legendary R And B Group Hi-Five

“HI-FIVE THE EP” is led by the smooth single, “It’s Nothing”, produced and written by Sheldon Goode, Brian Adams and group member Billy Covington. “We wanted to give our fans a familiar sound yet more mature but still the signature HI-Five delivery”, mentions Billy Covington.

HI-FIVE will be featured in an upcoming episode of the popular TV ONE “Unsung” series. HI-FIVE will share intimate moments of their music career journey as well as the ups and down of being an artist. Our Interview with U.N.V

Cameen- R&B crooner and Brooklyn native Cameen is no stranger to music. As a child he spent time with his cousin, bass jazz musician, William Allen– where he found his vocal gift. He attended St. John’s University Of Queens, NY. However, due to an untimely gun shot injury, he would complete his bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sociology at Rivier University of NH. Upon graduating he created an upstart businesses called CKC Entertainment Group, LLC/CKC Elite Car Service, and re-directed his passion to his first love –music.

Al Chauncy- He is the Son of jazz/rock n roll pianist Gerald “Jerry” Williams who was Duke Ellington’s young protege’ for a short period; which Duke handpicked his Father for a scholarship to The Juilliard School. He also played with Jackie Wilson, The Tams, WJ Moore and the Dynamic Upsetters; Graced the stages of The Apollo Theatre, Madison Square Garden, and The Ed Sullivan Show. Al Chauncy is also the cousin of Blues legend Brownie McGhee who recorded records as the duo Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. So the musical inheritance was inevitably passed on to Al Chauncy to share with his generation.

Our Interview with Troop

While still in their teens, Steven Russell Harts, Allen McNeil, Rodney Benford, John Harreld, and Reggie Warren-AKA TROOP-scored big with their self titled Atlantic debut album, which yielded the #1 R&B hit, “MAMACITA,” and the top ten R&B tune “MY HEART”. Troop’s follow up album, 1989’s “ATTITUDE”, struck RIAA GOLD propelled by two #1 singles “SPREAD MY WINGS” and “ALL I DO IS THINK OF YOU.”

Entering a music industry that at the time already had the great success of other male R&B groups, Troop had their work cut out for them with distinguishing themselves from the rest, but from the moment they made their official entrance into the industry Troop quickly set themselves apart from other groups with their captivating harmony & explosive dance styles.

This internationally recognized R&B Sensation got their start in the late 80s after they won a televised talent contest called, “Puttin on the Hits” that drew interest from record labels & fans alike. Hailing from Pasadena, CA where they are still based, Troop was signed to Atlantic Records and released their debut single “Mamacita.” After reaching #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts it quickly established them as a group. Our Interview with Mike McCluney

With the release of his new single “Time Machine,” Mike McCluney gives the world a chance to reminisce. The Gaffney, SC native presses pause on the time of real male R&B music to give audiences the classic sound they’ve been waiting for.

Rewind back in time when a four-year-old Mike realized he wanted to pursue music. While most children in kindergarten were perfecting their ABC’s, Mike was performing concerts for peers on the school bus.

Mike’s love for music and performing led him to dance and musical instruments. With all the determination and passion a young artist could muster; he learned how to play the piano, guitar, drums and trombone.

As Mike grew up, he was influenced by acts like Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Gerald Levert and New Edition. His love for groups would foreshadow an opportunity of a lifetime.

Fast-forward to 2007, MTV’s Making the Band 4 challenge where “Big Mike” captured hearts and a recording deal under Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment as a member of R&B group, Day 26.

With Day 26, Mike has received several award nominations including a BET Award in 2009 for Best Group.

Our Interview with Shannon Bex

Shannon Bex has had an enviable journey from her early performance days as an NBA Dancer for the Portland Trailblazers. Since that time, she has won the hearts of millions of television viewers as a contestant and finally first runner up on the NBC reality show “Fame”.

From there, she was chosen by “Bad Boy” records President, Sean “Diddy” Combs, to be on the MTV hit reality show “Making the Band”.

Shannon made the band and became a member of the multi-platinum selling group “Danity Kane”. Danity Kane’s freshman and sophomore albums released at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart; placing them in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first female group in Billboard history to debut two consecutive albums at the top of the charts. As a member of Danity Kane, Bex toured with Christina Aguilera, headlined the Danity Kane “Dollhouse” tour, was a featured Visa MYPLASH artist and collaborated in designing a Danity Kane line with Dollhouse Jeans Clothing.
